To remember something, say a dream, there is two things memories have, mood associated with them and symbol, something that stands for something else. Reflection in these two qualities, may allow someone to remember relevant memories.
Mood and symbol, the author seems to be saying, are two qualities of memories. I have tried to remember dreams based on these two qualities, and I managed to remember a lot.
Hegelian concrete is my understanding of third nen. The first nen being either universal or immediate, whereas negative or mediation becomes second nen. Nen is translated as thought impulse in the book. If so, you remember things by starting with concrete thing, not by abstract thing.
